AMENDING SECTION 13.36.040 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH
TWO-HOUR PARKING ZONES ON A PORTION OF CRESCENT AVENUE
BETWEEN RALSTON AVENUE AND HOWARD AVENUE
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Factual Background and Findings.
WHEREAS, the City has received multiple complaints from residents of the 200
block of Crescent Avenue regarding long-term daytime business parking on their street;
apparently, employees from the business district have been parking on this part of
Crescent for the duration of their work shift, making daytime parking for the residents
nearly impossible; and
WHEREAS, the 200 block of Crescent Avenue, between Howard Avenue and
Ralston Avenue, currently has no parking restrictions while streets north of this block
have a 2 -hour parking time limit restriction posted and enforced; and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2012, the Traffic Safety and Parking Commission
(TSPC) discussed this matter with residents of the 200 block of Crescent, residents of the
100 block of Crescent and residents of Newlands Avenue; and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the meeting, the TSPC determined that the
parking situation in the 200 block of Crescent Avenue In the policy requirements to
qualify for the current Residential Parking Permit Program and, with near -unanimous
support from the residents of the 200 block of Crescent, recommended that the City
mplement a 2 -hour parking restriction on this portion of Crescent Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the 2 -hour parking time -limit reshiction is apre-requisite to the
inclusion of this portion of Crescent Avenue in the Residential Parking Permit Program
(RPPP); the addition of this portion of Crescent Avenue to the RPPP will occur by
Council Resolution after the Public Works Department has installed the 2 hour parking
limit restriction signage;
Section 2. The City Council hereby adds anew Sub -section (a) (30) to Sub -section
(a) of Section 13.36.040 of the Burlingame Municipal Code to read as
follows:
"(30) Crescent Avenue, both sides, from the curb return ofRalston
Avenue to the curb return of Howard Avenue."
Section 3. The City Engineer and the City Transportation Engineer are directed fo
install parking signs and to take all other necessary actions to implement
this parking restriction change on Crescent Avenue between Ralston
Avenue and Howard Avenue.
Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to publish this ordinance in the manner required
by law.

Council held on the 7th day of January, 2013, and adopted thereafter at a regular meeting
