HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1898• ..: l •VI I I• The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Factual Background and Findings. WHEREAS, the City is currently conducting construction work on Burlingame Avenue for streetscape improvements, and WHEREAS, as part of the streetscape project and for traffic control during construction, temporary stop signs were installed on Burlingame Avenue approaching Park Road, making the intersection a temporary 3 -way stop intersection; and WHEREAS, before streetscape construction, Park Road already had a stop sign approaching Burlingame Avenue; and WHEREAS, in an effort to be consistent with both the streetscape construction conditions and final completion conditions, a 3 -way stop sign warrant study was conducted to consider permanent stop sign on Burlingame Avenue approaching Park Road. and WHEREAS, the stop sign warrant analysis determined that the warrant conditions for the intersection of Burlingame Avenue and Park Road were met for permanent 3 -way stop signs; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 2. The City Council hereby adds the following to Section 13.20.010 of the Burlingame Municipal Code to read as follows: "Burlingame Avenue approaching Park Road;" Section 3. The City Engineer and the City Transportation Engineer are directed to install permanent stop signs and stop markings on Burlingame Avenue approaching Park Road. Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to publish this ordinance in the manner required by law. I, Mary Ellen Kearney, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was introduced at a public hearing occurred at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 215` day of April, 2014, and adopted thereafter at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of May, 2014, by the following vote: AYES:.
