1. STUDY MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
A budget study meeting of the Burlingame City Council was held on the above date in the Lane Community
Room of the Burlingame Library. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Mike Coffey.

3. REVIEW 2OO3/04 BUDGET AND CAPITAL PROGRAM
I. Opening Comments
City Manager Nantell presented the budget and made opening remarks to the Council.
II. Overview of the Pronosed FY 2003/04 Budset
FD Nava gave a summary of the budget and the financial overview for the coming year
UI. Budget Reductions & Elimination of Positions
FD Nava gave a summary of the reductions and elimination of positions to help meet budget demands.
IV. Capital Improvements Quick Overview
DPW Bagdon gave an overview of the capital improvement program for 2003104
V. City Council Reports on Departmental Reviews
Each Council Member gave a brief summary of the budget for the operating departments they were
responsible for auditing.
VI. Communitv Agencies Funding Requests
Council discussed the requests from local community groups for contributions for 2003104; the amount
distributed to these organizations was $52,650.

Representatives from two community groups commended City staff and Council for all the work that went
into the budget.

Mayor Coffey adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
