A regular meeting of the City CounciL of the Clty of Burllngane
was held on the above given date. The meeting was ca11ed to-gether at B;00 P.M., Mayor MeDonald ln the Chalr.
Roll Ca1l: Present- Councilmen Buck, Burrovrs, Coleman, Bunt,
and McDonald.Absent- Co'.:nci1men, None.
Counc ilman-eleet Coleman took the oath of offlce adnlnlstered
by City Clerk Murphy before the openlng of the meeting.
The minutes of the prevlous meetlng of Aprl1 15, 1940 were a.o-proved as submltted to the Councll; the reading being dlspensed
w1th.
The State Board of Equallzatlon advlsed the grantlng of ttoff
salert llcense for beer and wlne to Joseph r(roluc r 1319 Burllngane
Avenue whlch was protested by the Councll at a previous meetlng.
The letter was ordered recelved and f11ed.

Appllcation of H.I Lauder to remove tree 1n front of apartnents
under constructlon at 751 E1 Camlno Real was approved on motlonby Councllman Buck and seconded by Councilman Hunt; the re-moval to be pald by Mr. Lauder.
The Chamber of Commerce subnltted reconnendatlon that Counciltake the necessary steps to have Burlingaure Avenue declared a
maJor streetrthereby, maklng 1t eligible for gas tax funds;Also that sufflclent funds be set aslde for the next two yearsto asslst 1n the cost of wldenlng and resurfaclng of street;also that Council adopt a11ey way and parklng Iot problems nowbefore Superlntendent tongson. The matter was referred to the
PLannlng Commlsslon for attentlon, the appolntoent of comnlttees
