Buck and was seconded by Councilman McDonald that the actlon of the Civil Servlce Comnisslon beratlfled and the appointment of rlressrs. Loftus and price be made;the same to be at the convenlence of PoLlce Chlef Harper; theeligible 11st to be augmented wlth Messrs, Nul-temeier andFltzpatri-ck. ----Carrled, all voting AYE. A letter was read fron ]/ltesley M. Bean, 220 Bloornfleld Road,protesting the actlon of the Civll Servlee Commlssion on thequestlon of hi.s el1gibi11ty on the grounds of age and requestingthat the Councilts action be lncLuded ln the offlclal- record ofproceedings. City Attorney Karmel advised the Council that nothlngcan be done with the protest at this time and recomnended that 1tbe fl1ed. It was so ordered on vote of the Counc11. A petitlon was presented by residents ln Burllngame Gate Sub-dlvlsioa for the cleanlng up of the l[arket Street Rallway right-of-way fence fene€ fron the south 1lne of Canbrldge Road to the end of Callfornla Drlve and the plantlng thereln a privet hedge. The sane was referred to Superlntendent Anderson for report.
