The Grace Lutheran Church was granted refund of 1959-40 taxes on Lot 4, Block 20, Easton alleglng same ls partly used for Sunday Sehool purpose and some parklng whleh relleves a badtraffic conditlon on EI Canlno Real. Motlon by Councilman Buek and seconded by Councllman Illves. The Clty Clerk was lnstructed to send report 6f Pollee Chief Harperto the San Mateo County Trafflc Safety Commlsston, Bedwood Cityrelatlve to po11c1ng at Broa.dway Station erosslng, mornings from seven to nlne la which it is alleged they are short of man povuer durlng these hours with other asslgnments. They w111, however, contlnue to give Crosslng such service as w11I permlt. The Paclfle Gas and Electrlc Company submltted bid of $174.53to substltute gas for present o11 burner at the'Fire Station. The Councll approved the saoe referrlng metter to Purchaslng Agent Bloon to work out the best deal possible; this to be done when the present stoek of o11 on hand is exhausted. Councilman Hives presented ligirting problems at Broadway and Bayshore Boulevard wirich he stated should be improved as it is bad ln heavy weather. Mr. Bloom was instructed to investigate and get prlees tc relieve the situatlon. Motion by Cou nc1lma.n Buck and secoqded by Councilman MeDone.ld. Under new business Mayor Hunt brought up the matter of a councilma"n to fill vaeancy occasioned by the resignatlon of Councilman Ward whleh he sald vias lmperative at thls time. 0n motlon by Counelluan Buek and seconded by Cormcllman llives George Y,l. Colemen of 2801 llillslde Drlve was appolnted to filMr. Wardr s un'explred term. All voting AYE.
