The noeetlng was called together at B:00 P.M., Mayor Hunt 1n the Chalr. Roll Cal1: Present, Councilnen Buck, Elves, Eunt and MeDonald.Absent, Councllnan Ward. The mlnutes of the previous meetlng of Novenber 6, l-959 were approved as submltted to the Councl1, the readlng belng dlspensed wlth. A letter was read from the San Mateo County Trafflc Safety Conmlsslon asklng for po11ce service at Broadway crosslng between hours ? A.l{. and I A.tr[. as a safety precautlon. The same was ordered referred to Poltce Chlef Harper for report. A letter fron the Chanber of Conmerce to the Councll was readl sald letter conpllmentlng Councll for rerouting of busses to lloftard Avenue, the bus depot at Howard Avenue and Callforpla Drlve, the erectlon of buslness dlstrlct slgns at Broadway and Burllngame Avenues and the set-back and roundlng of curbs on the south slde of Burllngane Avenue at El Camlno Beal. The Counell appreclated the coopllments expressed and ordered the corulunlcatlon f11ed. Pollee Cblef Barper offered suggestlon that south bound busses dlscontlnue stops at the south slde of Burllngame Avenue uslng the north side lnstead. The sane was referred to the Clerk to wrlte the bus company asklng tnat thTmake thls change. The Board of Equallzatlon reported appllcatlon of John C. Burke as applicant to se1I beer ln aew bowllng a11ey on lloward Avenue. The Councll looked wlth dlsfavor on the appllcatloa and offered protest to the grantlng of the same, orderlng the matter be turned over to the City Attorney and the Chief of Po1lce. Motlon by Councllman Elves and seconded by Councllman Buck. A Resolutlon prohibltlng the parklng of vehlcles of any klnd except busses of the Paclflc Greyhound 1lnes about the area bounded by Hlghlancl Avenue, Iloward Avenue and Callfornia Drlve was offered by Councilman Illves and seconded by Councilman Buck. Carried, all voting AYE. Ordlnance No. 641 amendlng Ordinanee No. 227 t section 9A wlth relatlon to resldences or bulfdlngs 1n the Industrlal dlstrlet was glven second readlng and was adopted on vote of the Councll Blds for the Washlngton Park Grandstand were ordered referred to an adJourned neeting to be held on November 2'l , 1939 at 8:00 P.M. Tlre Council voted an approprlatlon of $50.00 to the Anerlcan RedCross. Motlon by Councllman Buck and seconded by Councllman Hives. Denands against the C1ty, #3'143 to #5854 lncluslve, were read and approved and warrants were order'ed on tne Clty Treasury for thelr respectlve amounts.
