Absent: Councilman Eives.
The mlnutes of the previous meetlng of November 21, 1938 were
approveci as subnltted to tlie Council, the reading belng di,spensed
wlttr.
A letter was read from the Presldent of, the Penlnsula Dlvlslon,
League of Callfornla Mr:nlclpalltles advlslng of bl-monthly
meetlng at Vl11a Mateo, Daly Clty, December 15, 1938 at ?:00 P.M.
and requestlng the Councilts presence. The Councllmen were
lnstructed to so note and endeavor to attend.

from his Councll statlng that under date of November 28, 1938, at
a regular meetlng, authorlzatlon v/as glven to pay the appralsed
value of that portlon of the Burllngame Water System 1n Hlllsborough
plus any costs of dlsconnectlng etc. and also to pay one half the
iost of- the necessary llne on E1n Avenue at prlce of $12500.00.
0n motion by Councilman Buek and seconded by Councllman Hunt the
foregoing offer as presented by Mr. l/i11sey uas approved.

The Plannlng Coru01ssj.on submitted its approva.l to subdlvlde
Lot 11C, Block 22, Lyon & Hoag Subdivislon, into three portlons
provlded a map of sueh ls f11ed irlth tlie City. The 1o$t 1s

the Plannlng Comrolssionrs f ec ornruenda tlon contingent on tlre fl11ng
of a map of the re-subd1vlsion.

The Veterernsr Welfare Board petltloned the Councll to cancel back
taxes on Lot 16, Block 66, Easton and Lot 8, Block 11, Burlingables;
these propertles havlng been acqulred by the ll',le1fare Board and
resold to veterans. the request was declined on motlon by
CounciLoan Buck and seconded by Councllman Hunt. ---Carrled.
The Buslness and Property Ownerst Assoclation of Burllngaroe
presdnted a communlcatlon 1n whlch they stated thelr organlzatLon
ls not eonvlnced that there ls any wlde spread denand for addltlonal
recreatlonal facllltles and alaked that tlre public be fuLly lnformed
before anythlng deflnlte transplres. Mayor Ward stated the natter
uias not before the Courcll at thls tlne, there being nothlng to

Mrs. Ida J. Brooks, property ollner on Broadv;ay opposed the
wldening of that street through a spec1a.I assessnent. Her

F.C. Laak of San Franclsco presented plans and speclflcatlonsfor an apartnent court on Lots 1-2-5, Block 6, Burllngame Shore
Land Conpany tract. The same was referred to the Planning
Conmlsslon for thelr reconmendatlon.
