URGENCY ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING FOUR-WAY STOP AT BLOOMFIELD
ROAD AND BAYSWATER AVENUE
The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame, does ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 13.20.010 of the Burlingame Municipa] Code is
amended by adding subsection numbered 88 to read as follows:
"88 Bloomfield Road and Bayswater Avenue from all approaches."
Section 2. Urgency Clause. It is hereby declared that this
ordinance is an ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
safety, health and welfare and is an urgency measure as provided by law and
shall take effect upon its passage. The facts constitutinq such urgency are
as follows: Speed studies have indicated that it is necessary that a thirty
mile per hour speed limit be established on Bayswater Avenue between Humboldt
Road and California Drive. It has been further determined with the opening
of school the unrestricted driveway access which exists in the area, and be-
cause of some restricted visibility at intersections, further traffic control
measures are necessary,and therefore a four-way stop intersection must be
created at once at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Bayswater Avenue
since the above conditions create an immediate danger to the health and safety
of the persons in the area.
Section 3. This ordinance shall cease all force and effect one
..hundred eighty (180) days after it first becomes effective.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.

certify that the foregoing Urgency Ordinance was introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council held on the20th day of September, 1976,
by the following four-fifths vote:
