ORDINANCE INCREASING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ON
OCCIDENTAL AVENUE BETWEEN BARROILHET AVENUE AND EL
CAMINO REAL FROM TWENTY-FIVE TO THIRTY MILES PER HOUR
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF BURLINGAME determines and finds upon
the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that a speed greater than twenty
five (25) miles per hour will facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traf
fic on Occidental Avenue between Barroilhet Avenue and El Camino Real, and that
a prima facie speed limit of thirty (30) miles per hour on said Public street
is reasonable and safe.
Said CITY COUNCIL therefore ORDAINS as follows:
Section 1. Section 13.24.015 is hereby added to the Burlingame
P1unicipal Code to read as follows:
"13.24.015 Thirtv (30) miles per hour for certain vehicles.
No person shall. drive a vehicle upon any of the following desig-
Hated streets at a speed greater than thirty (30) miles per hour:
Occidental Avenue between Barroilhet Avenue and El Camino Real.
The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed
to procure appropriate signs giving notice of said prima facie
speed
limit and to erect the same along Occidental Avenue between Barroilhet
Avenue and E1 Camino Real."
Section 2. This ordinance shall cease all force and effect one
hundred eighty (180) days after it first becomes effective.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.
