ORDINANCE NO. 1062
ORDINANCE FR FOR INCREASE IN COUNCILMEN'S SALARY
The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame does ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 2.04.030 of the Burlingame f+lunicipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"2 04.030 Salary.
(a) Purpose. This section is enacted pursuant to Section
36516.2 of the Government Code of the State of California, authorizing
increases in councils' salaries beyond amounts based on City population.
(b) Salaries. Each member of the Council shall receive as salary
the sum
of two hundred
twenty-five
dollars ($225.00) per month. This
amount is
based upon an
increase of
five per cent (5%) for
each
calendar
year since the
initial salary
of one hundred fifty
dollars
($150.00)
per month was
established
on December 6, 1965.
It is
payable
from and after
the operative
date of the ordinance
codified
in this
section iat the
same time and
in the same manner as
the
salaries
paid to other
officers and
employees of the City.
(c) Reimbursement. The salaries prescribed herein are exclusive
of any amounts payable to each member of the Council as reimbursement
for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him in the performance
of official duties.
(d) Operative date. This section becomes operative only on
and after the date one or more of the members of the Council becomes
eligible by virtue of beginning a new term of office following the
heat general municipal election."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.
