AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH CODE OF SAN MATEO
COUNTY AND FEE AND PERMIT PROCEDURES
APPLICABLE THERETO
The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame does ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Chapters 8.08, 8.12 and 8.24 of the Burlingame Municipal
Code are hereby repealed.
Section 2. Chapter 8.08, concerning environmental health, is
.hereby added to said Code to read as follows:
"Chapter 8.08
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
8.08.010 Adoption of Environmental Health Code.
The Environmental Health
Code of the County of San Mateo, as
set forth in
Part 2 of
Division IV
of the
San Mateo County Ordinance
Code (Section
4500, et
sec.) establishing
health standards for
restaurants,
itinerant
restaurants,
mobile
food vendors, caterers,
food equipment,
public
fresh water
sports
areas, water supplies, wells,
chemical toilets,
and
rodent and insect
control
is hereby adopted by
reference as
the Environmental
Health
Code
for the City of Burlingame.
8.08.020 Additional Provisions Concerning Wells
The following additional provisions regarding wells shall apply
within the City of Burlingame:
(1) Double check valve arrangement. There shall be installed
between the house or structure being served water and the meter box
or distribution system a double check valve arrangement approved
jointly by the Flealth Officer and City Engineer.
(2) As a part of the investigation required by Section 4712
of said Environmental Health Code, the County Health Officer shall

consult the City Engineer and shall not issue any well permit without
his approval
8. 08.030 Inspection Fees and Permit Procedures
Chapters 3 and G pf Part 2 of Division V of the San Mateo
County Ordinance Code, establishing inspection fees for certain
activities relating to public health and a permit procedure for
food establishments, is hereby adopted by reference for application
within the City of Burlingame.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.
