ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4.14 OF THE
BURLINGAME MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH
RESERVE FUNDS FOR SELF-INSURANCE FUNDS
The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame ORDAI^IS as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 4.14 of the Burlingame Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 4.14
SPECIFlL FUNDS FOR PARTIAL SELF-IfJSURAiVCE
4.14.010 Workers' Compensation Fund.
The workers' compensation fund is established and shall be
maintained for the deposit of all monies budgeted for payment of
workers' compensation claims under the City's self-insurance program.
It shall also be the depository for temporary disability payments
recovered from third parties or received while the employee is dis-
abled and is receiving full salary under the provisions of the
California Labor Code or City ordinances or agreements. Payments
therefrom shall be made for all proper industrial injury claims against
the City and for expenditures related to said program.
Said fund shall be established and amounts accumulated therein
until it is equal to two and one-half (21
2) times the amount budgeted
for 1976-1977 workmen's compensation insurance premiums. All earn-
ings from investments of the fund, and all state mandated benefit
costs recovered shall also accrue to the fund."
4.14.020 General Liability and Property Damage Fund.
The general liability and property damage fund is established
and shall be maintained for the deposit of all monies budgeted for
payment of general liability and property damage claims under the
City's self-insurance program. It shall also be the depository
for any payments received from third partiesfor reimbursement of
City insurance payments. Payments therefrom shall be made for all

proper general liability and property damage claims against the
City and for expenditures related to said program.
Said fund shall be established and amounts accumulated therein
until it is equal to the sum of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000).
All earnings from investments of the fund shall be accrued to the fund."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published as required by law.

certify that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council held on the3rd day of January, 1977, and was adopted there-
after at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 17 day of
January , 1977.
