HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1122ORDINANCE NO. 1122 URGENCY ORDINANCE EXTENDING URGENCY INTERIM ORDINANCE REQUIRING STUDY AREA PERMITS FOR PROJECTS NORTH AND EAST OF BAYSHORE FREEWAY AND WITHIN THE ROLLINS ROAD INDUSTRIAL AREA The CITY COUNCIL of the City of 6urlingame does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Extension of Urgency Interim Ordinance. Ordinance No. 1113 adopted September 6, 1977, requiring study area permits for projects North and East of the Bayshore Freeway and within the Rollins Road Industrial Area is hereby extended to the dates hereinafter set forth. Section 2. Urgency. It is hereby declared. that this ordinance is an ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, health and welfare and iC an emergency measure as provided by law, and shall take effect upon its adoption. The facts constituting. such urgency are as follows: Changing character of the development of said area, including the prospect of numerous major projects in said area in the next three years, liquidation of the lands of the largest single owner of undeveloped property and increased proposals for office building uses will cause intensified traffic volumes, increased burdens upon already limited utility services, increased fire and police demands and environmental and economic problems as yet unknown. It is necessary for the existing interim ordinance to be extended to allow time for completion of a study of these facts so that new zoning or other changes may be considered, Section 3. Duration. This ordinance is intended to be an interim urgency zoning ordinance. It shall automatically cease to have force and effect without specific repeal upon the first occuring of the following 2/8/78 -1- (1) the City Council shall enact new use or zoning regulations, foregoing Urgency publish the same, and the same shall become effective; (2) the City Council shall formally consider new use and zoning regulations and finally reject the same or refuse to enact them into law; or (3) four months after the expiration of Ordinance 1113 (March 6, 1978), which final expiration date of this ordinance would therefore be July 6, 1978, Section 4.
