A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS – PUBLIC WORKS CORPORATION YARD ROOF
RETROFIT PROJECT BY STATE ROOFING SYSTEMS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$907,160
CITY PROJECT NO. 86061
WHEREAS, the prior roof at the Public Works Corporation Yard, 1361 North Carolan Avenue,
was approximately 23 years old and had reached the end of its serviceable life; and
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2025, the City Council awarded the Public Works Corporation Yard
Roof Retrofit Project, City Project No. 86061, to State Roofing Systems, Inc., in the amount of
$889,400 (Resolution No. 045-2025); and
WHEREAS, construction of the project has been successfully completed to the City’s
satisfaction; and
WHEREAS, the final construction cost for the project is $907,160, representing an increase of
$17,760 (approximately 2%) over the original contract amount; and
WHEREAS, this increase remains well within the 15% contingency authorized by the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, completion of this roof retrofit project extends the service life of the Corporation
Yard facilities, reduces the risk of leaks and structural damage, and enhances the overall
reliability of the buildings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame,
California, and this Council does hereby find, order and determine as follows:
1. The Director of Public Works of said City has certified the work done by State Roofing
Systems, Inc. under the terms of its contract with the City dated June 5, 2025, has been
completed in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and to
the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works.
2. Said work is particularly described as City Project No. 86061
3. Said work be and the same hereby is accepted in the amount of $907,160.
