MINUTES Burlingame, California March 12, 1953 Study Meeting Absent Others Present Henderson Planning Consultant Mann Councilman Simonds City Engineer Marr Meeting called to order at 7:55 p.m. - Chairman Mitchell presiding. i7nfini.shed Business Burgermeister Sign erection. After considerable discussion it was moved by Commissioner Stivers, seconded by Commissioner Mattock that the proposed plan for the construction of two 48xl4-. signs on top of the Golden Gate Brands building be refused because of the size of the sign and by reason of the amount of light representing a nuisance to the people in the neighboring area. Refusal passed with Commissioner Perkins casting the dissenting vote. Concrete Mixing Plant application. The application of Andrew Waechter to erect a concrete mixing plant and materials yard was seriously considered following which Commissioner Mattock moved, seconded by Commissioner Harris that a tentative approval be given of the project on the basis that the plant would not at this time be considered a nuisance and recommended approval of a permit upon presentation of final plans and specifications. In addition, it was recommended that, and made a part of the recommendation, that water and sewer lines be brought to the property in accordance with the requirements of the City Engineer. Notion was unanimously passed. New Business A proposed resubdivision of a portion of the Buri-Burs Rancho headed by A. W. Sorich to be divided into four parcels was presented to the Commission for study. It was reviewed with the Engineer of Mr. Sorich, Mr. white and the commission agreed to look at the property and take action at the regular meeting on March 26, 1953. Permits and plans for the erection of an apartment house on Lot 9, block 39, Easton Subdivision No. 3 at E1 Camino 'deal and Easton Drive were presented by David Nicolaides through Building Inspector Watson. After a review of said plans, it was moved by Commissioner Perkins, seconded by Commissioner Mattock that the permit be granted. Study meeting 3112153 pg• 2 Chairman Mitchell outlined a program for the master plan for the overpass on California Drive and recommended a list of prominent people from a technical standpoint to act on the committee. It was suggested that the Chairman present the list for approval to mayor Byrd and the Mayor to formally ask them to participate. Planning Consultant Mann advised the Commission that it was in order at the next meeting to start action to notify the public about hearings on the new zoning ordinance. Mr. Diann was advised to put the necessary required motions in written form for presentation at the next regular meeting. The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, FRANK B.
