Meeting called to order at `':00 p.m. - Chairman Mitchell in the Chairl The minutes of the regular meeting of March 26, and the minutes of the study meeting of April 16, 1053, as submitted to members were approved and adopted. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Application of Joe F. and Wilma E. Schoales for a permit to construct a four -unit apartment building on Lots 14, 15, Block 5, Burlingame Grove Subdivision was again considered by the Commission. Action on the granting of the permit was withheld until such time as an agreement is received by the city granting an easement for an ingress and egress over the rear ten feet of Lot 15, Block 5, Burlingame Grove. Pratt and Mitchell application. for permission to subdivide Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Burlingame ?'ark No. 3, into three parcels. Commissioner Mattock and City Engineer Marr advised the members than an investigation had been made of the property and it was found that there was nothing structurally wrong but that in their opinion the driveway was believed to be too narrow. Following further consideration on the question, Commission Mattock moved that the Commission recommend to the City Council that the subdivision be granted and that a formal subdivision map be submitted to the City Engineer for recording purposes. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Diederichsen and unanimously carried. New Business Miss Hazel B. Thompson, 1401 Bellevue Avenue, Burlingame, appeared in person to question the zoning status of her property. Miss Thompson stated that she had purchased the property with the understanding that it was zoned for business, but that there is now an uncertainty as to its status. Chairman Mitchell advised that the subject would be post- poned until a search may be made of the records of the city and would be discussed at the next study meeting of the Commission A letter dated April 28, 1053, was read from the Burlingame Merchants Minutes Planning Commission 5/30/53 - page 2 Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, suggesting that the Planning Commission encourage more industry to locate in Burlingame, by developing a list of preferred industries of a character and type which would be acceptable to the community. The communication was received to be taken under consideration. The first of a series of public hearings on the proposed new zoning ordinances was scheduled on this date. Chairman Mitchell turned the meeting over to Planning Consultant Mann who explained the legal procedure necessary prior to the final adoption of the zoning ordinance. Fie then proceeded with the reading of the new sections 1900 through 1932, at the conclusion of which those entering objections to particular sections were given an opportunity to be heard. The next study meeting was scheduled for May 14, and the regular meeting for May 28, 1953, at which time a second public hearing on the proposed zoning; ordinance was scheduled.
