A regular meeting of the Burlingame City Planning Commission was held
on the above given date. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. -
Chairman Mitchell in the Chair.
The minutes of the regular meeting of April 30, 1953 and the study
meeting of May 14, 1953, were approved as read.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
In the matter of the application of Andrew L. Waechter, regarding
transit mix plant which was submitted to the City Council by the
applicant and in turn was referred to the Pl-inning Commission by that
body, upon motion made by Commissioner Henderson, c6nsideration of
the application by the Commission was deferred until the regular -leeting
in June, at which time a public hearing on the subiect will be held.
Upon inquiry of Chairman Mitchell, City Attorney Karmel clarified the
Council's action in referring the above matter to the Commission. rie
stated that in his opinion the plans were submitted to the Commission
by the Council for recommendation as to use, and to make .findings,
conclusions and recommendations to the Council. R oy W. Seagraves,
appeared on behalf of the Inter -Club Council of Improvement Clubs to
discuss certain discrepancies between tentative and final plans of the
Noble Company on mix plants. The matter was referred to Commissioners
Mattock and Diederichsen, who are currently studying plans.
NEW BUSINESS
William J. Bourne request for permission to extend driveway at 85
California Drive, referred to the Commission by the Council, was re-
turned to the amity Council as the Planning Commission has no authority
to grant a variance as would be required in this instance.
The application of Wilsey & Co., in behalf of his client, arl Schleuse,
907 Larkspur Drive, Burlingame, to subdivide Lots 5 and 6, 31ock 8,
Burlingame Gardens, was approved and a recommendation to that effect
to be forwarded to the City Council.

Letter from Chamber of Commerce requesting favorable consideration
to a traffic turn-off from Bayshore vreeway at a point;.north of
Howard Avenue was held over for action at the next study meeting.
Public reading of proposed zoning ordinances was oDncluded (except
new zoning map.) Objections to certain sections of the ordinance
( pages 16 - 27 inc.) will be heard at next study meeting.
The meeting was regularly adjourned at 10:50 p.m.
