Minutes of the joint meeting of September 10, 1953 were read:
The purpose of the present meeting was to further consider the
proposed subdivision of Trousdale property on the east and west
side of the E1 Camino Real.
Mr. Miles stated he understood a new map was to be submitted by
Mr. Trousdale. Mr. Henderson expressed a willingness to consider
homes on the east side of El Camino Real but would like to see a
continuation of Rollins Road and would be critical of any elevation
with a fill less than five feet. He asked about the utilization of
the Pacific Gas & Electric right of way. He indicated that he would
be willing to vote against the proposition as proposed at the last
meeting. Mr. Payne of Millbrae said that he agreed with Mr. Hender-
sonfs four points.
Chairman Mitchell announced that Messrs. Trousdale and Church were
present and invited them to express their views. Mr. Trousdale said
that he will see that Rollins Road will be run through and that the
drainage problem is properly taken care of. Mr. Etienne was present
and stated that he is in favor of the plan for residential and light
industry in the area. The Chairman of the Millbrae Planning Commis-
sion announced that he felt the same as Mr. Henderson and Mr. Brown
said that he agreed. Mayor Simonds asked Mr. Trousdale if the Plan-
ning Commissions approve the zoning will he proceed with annexation.
Attorney Church, representing Mr. Trousdale, answered that he consid-
ered that the final decision rests with the City Councils. Attorney
Karmel advised the Commission that if it agrees with the preliminary
map as presented, the engineers are going to work on the preparation
of a final map. The Chairman of the Millbrae Planning Commission
announced that a majority of their Commissioners are in favor of the
plan as presented. A majority of the Burlingame members expressed
Planning Comm. Page #2
themselves similarly. Mr. Church said that he will file for an-
nexation and zoning simultaneously. Mr. Trousdale added that he
wanted it understood that a final map, zoning and annexation were
dependent upon each other. City Attorney Karmel pointed out that
the tentative map shows merely a general outline while a final map
would show zones and boundaries.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 P.M.
