A proposal to rezone the premises at 560 El Camino Real, Burlingame, for use as a 'country ink" was scheduled for Planning Commission attention at this time. For the benefit of interested property owners in attendance, Chairman Mitchell announced that no action was necessary as the applicants had apparently withdrawn their proposal. aue,,tioned by City Attorney Karmel as to the subject's appearance on the agenda inasmuch as a formal petition had not been presented, Planning -onsultant Mann advised that the applicants had previously introduced tneir proposal to him and he had suggested that it be submitted to the members of the Commission to be reviewed at one of the study meetings. Mr. Diann further advised that he has been informed that the applicant was now no longer interested in the establishment of a country inn in the City of Burlingame. A letter was read from the Giovanzana Realty Company of San Francisco, requesting information relative to the Easton Industrial area. The communication was referred to the Secretary for reply and that the Realty Co. be informed that they advise the Commission of the character of industry contemplated. Secretary Perkins read the proposed rules and regulations of the Planning Commission. In a discussion on the subject, the following provisions were noted: (1) that a study meeting will be scheduled two weeks prior to a regular meeting; (2) all applications and matters that require Com- mission study, must be submitted at least fifteen days prior to the regular meeting. In clarifying the above, it was determined that applications requiring a formal hearing before the Commission, building plans, first approved by the Building Inspector and the Fire Chief, and all requests for changes in zoning as specified in the City Ordinances, must be submitted fifteen days prior to the regular meeting. The rules and regulations as submitted and discussed were approved on motion of Secretary Perkins and seconded Commissioner Brown. A letter was read from Dave Firenze requesting Commission approval to permit the construction of a warehouse in the industrial area within the City of Burlingame. 1`ir. Firenze in attendance, stated that the Minutes 7/31/52 - pg. 2 construction prpposed.was to provide for a maintenance building ad- joining the pore building near the Bayshore Highway and Marston Road. In reviewing the tentative plans, it was noted that no provision had been -made for the fifteen foot set back along the Bayshore Highway as required by the Ordinance Code and that the property in question involves the use of a Pacific Gas F-. Electric Company right of way. 2ollowing further discussion and consideration, Chairman Mitchell advised Ar. Firenze that before the Commission takes action on the request he first present a plot plan, indicating the pos'tion of the proposed building, some definite committment as to the driveway, and a clearance from the Pacific Gas 8- Electric Company for permission to use the easement and an understanding as to its control. Commissioner Brown thereupon moved that the subject be held in abeyance until the next regular meeting of the Commission, seconded by Commissioner Perkins and unanimously carried. Mr. Clare Kemp, representing Building Contractor R. A. White, submitted plans for a proposed building to be constructed near the `typo -Press Building on Rollins Road and to be occupied by wholesale flower shippers. The plans were discussed in detail with no opposition expressed. Commissioner Perkins moved that the plans as presented be approved, subject to their submission to the City Engineer and to the Building Inspector for .final approval, seconded by Commissioner henderson and carried. A plan submitted by James J. Morgan, proposing to erect a single fam' ly dwelling facing El Camino Real, separate from the existing dwelling on his l6t at the northeast corner of Carmelita Avenue and El Camino Real, was held for further investigation. Chairman Mitchell announced that a meeting was scheduled Tuesday, August 5, 1952, Court House, Redwood City, 8:30 P.M. following a dinner at the Villa Chartier, with representatives from the Millbrae, Burlingame and San j"'ateo County Planning Commission invited to attend to participate in the discussion for a master plan for the development of the Mills Estate. Other meetings scheduled: (1) Tri-County Planning Commission Meeting Adobe Creek, August 18, 10.52 and (2) Burlingame Planning Commission study meeting August 11�, 1(�52. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to a discussion on the new proposed zoning ordinances. The meeting was regularly adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, FRANK B.
