The minutes of the previous meeting of June 26, 1952, as submitted to
members of the Commission were approved.
A proposal to rezone the premises at 560 El Camino Real, Burlingame, for
use as a 'country ink" was scheduled for Planning Commission attention
at this time. For the benefit of interested property owners in
attendance, Chairman Mitchell announced that no action was necessary
as the applicants had apparently withdrawn their proposal. aue,,tioned
by City Attorney Karmel as to the subject's appearance on the agenda
inasmuch as a formal petition had not been presented, Planning
-onsultant Mann advised that the applicants had previously introduced
tneir proposal to him and he had suggested that it be submitted to
the members of the Commission to be reviewed at one of the study
meetings. Mr. Diann further advised that he has been informed that the
applicant was now no longer interested in the establishment of a
country inn in the City of Burlingame.
A letter was read from the Giovanzana Realty Company of San Francisco,
requesting information relative to the Easton Industrial area. The
communication was referred to the Secretary for reply and that the
Realty Co. be informed that they advise the Commission of the character
of industry contemplated.
Secretary Perkins read the proposed rules and regulations of the Planning
Commission. In a discussion on the subject, the following provisions
were noted: (1) that a study meeting will be scheduled two weeks prior
to a regular meeting; (2) all applications and matters that require Com-
mission study, must be submitted at least fifteen days prior to the
regular meeting. In clarifying the above, it was determined that
applications requiring a formal hearing before the Commission, building
plans, first approved by the Building Inspector and the Fire Chief, and
all requests for changes in zoning as specified in the City Ordinances,
must be submitted fifteen days prior to the regular meeting. The rules
and regulations as submitted and discussed were approved on motion of
Secretary Perkins and seconded Commissioner Brown.
A letter was read from Dave Firenze requesting Commission approval to
permit the construction of a warehouse in the industrial area within
the City of Burlingame. 1`ir. Firenze in attendance, stated that the

construction prpposed.was to provide for a maintenance building ad-
joining the pore building near the Bayshore Highway and Marston Road.
In reviewing the tentative plans, it was noted that no provision had
been -made for the fifteen foot set back along the Bayshore Highway
as required by the Ordinance Code and that the property in question
involves the use of a Pacific Gas F-. Electric Company right of way.
2ollowing further discussion and consideration, Chairman Mitchell
advised Ar. Firenze that before the Commission takes action on the
request he first present a plot plan, indicating the pos'tion of the
proposed building, some definite committment as to the driveway, and
a clearance from the Pacific Gas 8- Electric Company for permission
to use the easement and an understanding as to its control. Commissioner
Brown thereupon moved that the subject be held in abeyance until the
next regular meeting of the Commission, seconded by Commissioner Perkins
and unanimously carried.
Mr. Clare Kemp, representing Building Contractor R. A. White, submitted
plans for a proposed building to be constructed near the `typo -Press
Building on Rollins Road and to be occupied by wholesale flower shippers.
The plans were discussed in detail with no opposition expressed.
Commissioner Perkins moved that the plans as presented be approved,
subject to their submission to the City Engineer and to the Building
Inspector for .final approval, seconded by Commissioner henderson and
carried.
A plan submitted by James J. Morgan, proposing to erect a single fam' ly
dwelling facing El Camino Real, separate from the existing dwelling on
his l6t at the northeast corner of Carmelita Avenue and El Camino Real,
was held for further investigation.
