Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. - Vice -Chairman Harris presiding.
1. Petition submitted by the Peninsula Jewish Community Center and
request for variance 560 El Camino Real.
Letter read requeGting use of premises (formerly Duncan Sisters) as a
Community Center and building used for administrative office. Public
hearing scheduled for regular meeting November 28, 1952.
2. Application of Thomas R. Zitelli for a variance to construct a
building on a parcel of land located at the northeast corner of Broadway
and. California Drive.
Letter read from Thomas R. Zitelli, stating it is his intention to
construct a modern building for the purpose of operating a coffred shop
and that it will satisfy all the top requirements of Burling ame's
building code. As the property is owned by the City of -'an Francisco
qnd the former Market Street Railway Right -of -'Way, a discussion arose
as to the proposed construction and its proximity to the main line
tracks of the Southern Pacific Railroad. In order that the Commissioners
may have more information available, the subject matter was held until
the December meeting and referred to the City Engineer to determine
the lot lines.
3. W. L. Burkdall proposed resubdivision of two lots on walnut Avenue,
held from regular meeting October 30, 1952.
The property involves a creek area and a discussion arose as to the set
back lines, the dedication of an eas ment and the entrance to the lot.
The City Engineer and Commissioners Mattock and Perkins were selected to
review the property and submit a report on their findings between now
and the next meeting of the Commission.
4. Kenmar Terrace Subdivision.
Mr. Sidney Johnson, owner of the above subdivision appeared at the
meeting to ascertain from the Commission what is expected in the proposed
subdivision relative to drainage conditions. Questioned by the members

of the Commission, Mr. Johnson stated that adequate means are provided
tp prevent slides from the run-off water. After discussion, it was
unanimously agreed to approve the tentative map with the stipulation
that the drainage problems be settled to the satisfaction of the City
Engineer and that both the subdivider and the Planning Commission would
abide by his recommendations. Mr. Johnson expressed his approval to
the above. Mrs. S. M. Bump, 2902 Canyon Road requested information as
to what authority the County Planning Commission had in the matter and
that she had been informed by the Chairman of the County Planning Com-
mission that they would see that the project was made safe. Mrs. Bump
was given the explanation hs to the County's part in the project and
was assured that the City Engineer of Burlingame would see that it
was handled in the correct and proper manner.
5. Notice of Meeting.
The next meeting of the Peninsula Division of the League Of California
Cities scheduled for Los Gatos, 'Thursday, November 20, 1952.
6. Change in date of regular meeting.
Next regular meeting of the Commission, Friday, November 28, 1952,
City hall, 8:00 p.m.
Meeting regularly adjourned at 10:05 p.m.
