City Attorney Karmel
City Engineer Geo. J. IMarr
City Building Inspector Watson
Building Inspector Watson presented plans for proposed apartment house to be
constructed on Lot 11, Block 5, Burlingame Grove, E1 Camino Real near Mills Avenue by
W. 0. Nicolaides & Son Inc. for Dr. Frank M. Wagener to contain 7 apartments at an es-
timated cost of $40,000. It was noted that the building will be within 9' of the
property line on one side of the lot line and only 3' on the other side. This appears
to comply with the setback requirements of the City Ordinance and the plans were ap-
proved as submitted with front yard setback 25' from front property line.
Building Inspector Watson presented plans for proposed apartment house to be
constructed on Lot 9, Block 5, Burlingame Grove, E1 Camino Real near Mills Avenue by
Gunner Klint to contain 7 apartments at an estimated cost of $40,000. Plans approved
subject to revision as revised by Fire Department to increase exits from apartments
3, 4, and 5.
Building Inspector Watson presented a group of 10 building permit applica-
tions to construct 10 apartment buildings to contain 39 units on lots 1 to 10, Block 9,
Burlingame Gardens on Bayshore Service Road near Larkspur Drive by Contractor Joseph
R. Filippo for Consolidated Enterprises Inc. at an estimated cost of $147,000. Approved.
R. F. Mattock, 80 E1 Cerrito Avenue, Hillsborough, presented a sketch for a
proposed resubdivision of Lot 36, Portion Lot 33, Block 9 , Burlingame Park No. 2 at
corner of Barriolhet Avenue and Pepper Avenue. City Attorney Karmel was present and ad-
vised Mr. Mattock to file a petition with the City Council requesting resubdivision of
the area as proposed accompanied by a licensed surveyor's or engineer's map. Pending
formal presentation of the matter to the City Council, the Planning Commission, after
consideration, recommended the resubdivision as proposed be approved and the City
Council be advised of the Planning Commission's recommendation.
There was a general discussion in favor of the extension of California Drive
to Millbrae Avenue and the completion of Carolan Avenue. A suggestion was made that the
Planning Commission send a communication to the City Council recommending that a study
be made to determine the feasability of constructing an overpass to connect Edgehill
Drive and Morrell Avenue across California Drive. This with the object of improving the
accessibility between these two areas of the city and to relieve the increasing conges-
tion at the Broadway intersection, especially during the commuting hours.; The Secretary
was requested to draft a communication for review at the next meeting of the Planning
Commission to be submitted to the City Council.
It was decided on account of an intervening holiday to hold the next meeting
February 15, 1951.
Meeting adjourned 9:45 p.m.
