Others Present Mitchell Macomber Mayor Kent Atwater Brown Henderson City Attorney Karmel Stivers Harris Building Inspector Watson CARL F. ROEPKE, 1315 Alvarado Avenue, and a small group including Ed McClaran 2723 Easton Drive, Carl Bausch, 2905 Easton Drive and E. C. Fichtner, 133,E Benito, ap- peared to discuss the continuation of the Junipero Serra Boulevard through Burlingame. This subject was not on the agenda for this meeting, and there being no quorum of com- missioners present, it was concluded to hold a Special Meeting, Wednesday, May 16, 1951, L. J. VETTER, representing WALTER VAN TYNE, owner of the property at 1321 Bayswater Avenue, appeared. This was the subject of a public hearing at the last meet- ing. In the discussion which ensued Mr. Vetter was informed that it is the consensus of the Planning Commission that no variance should be granted permitting business on El Camino Real. Mr. Van Tyne appeared and said that he would like to dispose of the property for business purposes and urged a variance. In the absence of a quorum at thi: meeting it was concluded to hold a Special Meeting May 1, 1951. CLINT S. CARTER, 172 Heather Drive, Atherton, appeared at the meeting. He stated that he and RAY F. RENA.ULT are the owners of a 2� acre tract of land, Hillside Circle and Summit Drive, which they wish to resubdivide and annex to the City of Burlingame. In the discussion which ensued, Mr. Carter was informed that the Planning Commission would look with favor upon the annexation of the property to the City of Burlingame, and invited him to submit a subdivision map, which he said will be done in due course. There was an informal discussion of an ordinance to limit the height of build- ings in the city of Burlingame as a public welfare and safety measure. Frank Conti, Lang Realty Company, was present and said that based on his experience and observations, he would recommend a height limit not exceeding three stories in a community of the character of Burlingame. Mayor Kent Atwater was present and said that he would recom- mend"a limit of six stories which would not exceed the capacity of the equipment of the Fire Department. There was not a quorum at this meeting and it was concluded that this subject will be taken up again at the next available opportunity. Building InspectotoRlon presented plans for a four unit apartment house building to be constructed n o s 2, 19 and 20 Block 22, Bayshore Service Road, near Burlingame Avenue. Approved. Building Inspector Watson presented plans for a four unit apartment house to be constructed on Lot 5, Block 1, Bayshore and Oak Grove. Approved. Building Inspector Watson presented plans for a three unit apartment house to be constructed on Lot 6, Block 1, Burlingame Shore Land Co., Bayshore and Oak Grove. Approved. Building Inspector Watson presented plans for a four unit apartment house to be constructed on Lot 4, Block 1, Burlingame Shore Land Co.,Bayshore and Oak Grove. Ap- proved. Meeting adjourned 10:20.
