At this special meeting, the members of the City Council reviewed the matter of
policy relating to petitions for variances on El Camino Real. This was considered with
particular reference to the Van Tyne petition to rezone the property at 1321 Bayswater
Avenue from "Apartment" to "Commercial" on which hearing was held at a special meeting
on May 1, 1951. The recommendation of the planning commission to allow a variance sub-
ject to certain restrictions was discussed. The members of the Council did not indicate
if they would accept or reject the recommendation.
Also discussed at this meeting was the request from Mrs. Dorothy M. Dirr, 20
Anita Road, Burlingame, for a license to operate a catering business from her home at that
address. No action was taken at this meeting.
