RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION AND CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT AMENDMENT FOR A PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT SCHOOL
RESOLUT'ION 41-2002
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a categorical �xemption has been proposed and application has been made for a
conditional use permit amendment- for `a�nrivate, non-profit school at 2303 Trousdale Drive, zoned R-1,
Burlin�;ame Elementar� School District vroperiy owner APN: 025-130-070;

WHEREAS, said matters w�re.l�eard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on Mav
13. 2002, at which time it reviewedt and considered the staff report and all other written materials and
testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and
comments received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence
that the project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and categorical exemption,
per CEQA Article 19. Categorically,Ex�mpt per Section: 15301- Existing Facilities, Class 1(a), Interior or
exterior alterations involving such things as interior partitions, plumbing, and electrical conveyances.
2. Said conditional use permit amendment is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Findings.�qr �he amendment are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said
meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records of
the County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval for conditional use permit amendment
2303 TROUSDALE DRNE
effective May 20, 2002
1. that the Hope Technology School shall be limited to the 4,252 SF shown on the plans
submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped April l, 2002, �heets SD-1 to SD-3;
2. that the operation of the school classes shall follow the schedule indicated by the charts in
the staff report for the meeting date of May 13, 2002, and that any changes to this
schedule, including revising, shall require an amendment to the conditional use permit;

that the total number of persons on site at any time, including school staff, students, and
volunteers, will be limited to 62 persons;
that this conditional use permit shall be reviewed upon complaint and that the conditional
use permit shall expire in July 2003;
that the conditions of the Fire Marshal's memo of April 1, 2002, shall be met; and
that any improvements for the use shall meet all California Building and Fire Codes, 1998
Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame.
