ARTHUR BROS., general contractors, appeared with plans to make alterations to
the premises at 13U Bayswater Avenue for the occupancy of the Town and Country
Decorators in which the windows in the front of the house would be changed and the en-
tire exterior to be painted and other details of this character. After discussing
this with the Fire Chief and City Attorney, the matter was referred to the City
Building Inspector as requiring no action on the part of the Planning Commission.
CARL MORELLO, owner of property at 16 Park Road, appeared with plans for pro-
posed remodelling of bungalow for beauty shop on the first floor and four bedroom
residence for proprietor on second floor. Approved.
DR. B. H. McOiURDO, 1317 Bayswater Avenue, appeared with plans to remodel bunga-
low into offices for two doctors. Tentative approval.
Building Inspector Watson presented plans for the construction of a building
on the old Bayshore Highway for the use of SUPERIOR BUS & AMBULANCE COMPANY as a sales-
room. This was approved subject to the approval of the Fire Chief and Building
Inspector.
DAVID A. NICOLAIDES presented plans for proposed apartment, six units, to be
constructed on Lot E, Block 7, Burlingame Terrace. Approved.
The members of the Planning Commission held a long discussion on the subject .
of the remodelling of old houses on Bayswater Avenue for business purposes, and it was
concluded that this should have further consideration to see if anything can be done to
encourage attractive new construction instead of the use of old houses for business pur-
poses in this downtown area.
Dr. Macomber and Commissioner Harris brought up the subject of the possibility
of extending two streets in the area between North Burlingame and Ray Park. This was
referred to the City Engineer for his recommendation.
The Secretary was directed to write to the County Planning Commission to inquire
if there is any plan to widen and improve Canyon Drive and Summit Drive.
