Commissioner Macomber appeared at the meeting at 8:23 p.m.
Chairman Mitchell presented a draft of a proposed new subdivision to be
added to Division 8 of the Ordinance Code designating suggested minimum setbacks
for multi -story buildings in the Apartment District. This was illustrated by a
drawing which shows the effect of progressive set -backs from 3' to 151 relative to
buildings from 2 stories to six stories in height. After a thorough discussion it
was the consensus of the commissioners that such a provision in the Ordinance Code
is highly desirable as to apartment buildings in order to provide a proper a►nount
of light and air. It was also thought that a similar amendment to the Code should
be made to limit the height of structures in the Commercial District. It was con-
cluded, however, that before making this recommendation to the City Council the
matter will be held over for at least one more meeting for further study.
The Chairman reported the passing of Mrs. James Watson, the wife of City
Building Inspector Watson. All of the commissioners expressed their sincere sym-
pathy and the Secretary was directed to write a letter to Mr. Watson.
The Chairman set Thursday evening, October 5, 8 p.m.,as the next date for
a Study Meeting.
Meeting adjourned 9:45 P.m-
