PUBLIC WORK �i�TES (ADDITIONAL)
1. Any work in the � ity right- of- way , such as placement of debris bin in street, wark in
sidewalk, public ��sements, and utility easements, is required to obtain an F,ncroachment
Permit prior to starting work.
2. All damageg and displaced curb, gutter and/or sidewalk fronting site must be replaced
prior to Final of Building Permit.
3. Construction hours in the City Public right-of-way are limited to weekdays and
non-City Holidays between 8:OOam and S:OOpm. This includes construction hauling.
4. All water lines connections to city water mains for services ar fire line protection are
to be installed per city standard procedures and material specifications. Contact the
City Water Department connection fees. If required, all fire services 2" and over will
be installed by builder. All underground fire service connections shall be submitted
as separate Underground Fire Service permit for review and approval.
5. No structure shall be built into City's right-of-way. The property line on Hunt Drive
is approximately 10'-0" from thP face of curb.
6. The project sball comply with the Ciry's NPDES permit requirements to prevent storm
water pollution.
7. A11 debns/garbage eontainers location shall be on property. In addition where that is not
possible, an encroachment permit is required from Public Works Deparhnent for
placing debris/garbage containers in public right-of-way. No wet garbage fluid shall
enter public right-of-way or the storm drain system.
8. It is the responsibility of the Owner and/or the Contractor to notify Underground Service
Alert (USA) at least 48 hours before the start of any excavation work.

1 Replace all defective sidewallcs, curbs ?��d gutters where required by the city. All new sidewalk,
curbs, & gutters shall be built to City st��ldards. A city encroachment pemiit is required.

NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISC�IARGE ELIMI:NATION PEIZMIT
The project shall comply with the City's NPDES permit requirements to prevent construction activity
StOm1 wateI' p011utiOn. Project proponents shall ensure that all contractors implement appropriate and effecrive
Best Management Practices (BMPs} during all phases of consttuction, including demolition.

BACKWATER PROTECTION CERTIFICATION ORDINANCE
Sewer BACKWATER PROTECTION CERTIFICATION is required for the installation of any
new sewer fixtures per ORD]NANCE, #1710. The sewer Backwater Protection Certificate is
required prior to issuance of Building Permit.
SANITARY SEWER LATERAL
The sanitary sewer lateral (building sewer) shall be tested per Ordinance Code Cbapter 15.12. An
An encroachment pernut for the Sewer Lateral Test is required. A PASSED sewer lateral test
certificate must be in place priar to final of the Building Permit.
WASTE REDUCTION PLAN
The Contractor shall be responsible for preparation of a Waste Reduction Plan as required by the City
of Burlingame. Contact the Recycling Specialist at the City of Burlingame (650) 558-7271 for forms
and guidance. These forms must be filled out and approved by the responsible department prior to the
granting of a building permit.
LANDSCAPING / TREES
EXISTING LANDCAPE
All existing landscaping including lawn fescue to be remain unless being damage during construcrion
shall be rehabilitated.
EXISTING TREES
No existing tree over 48" in circumference at 54" form base of tree may be removed without a
Protected Tree Removal Permit from Park Division. (650) 558-7330.
EXISTING CITY STIiEET TREES
E�sting City Street Tree may not be cut, trimmed or removed without permitt from Park Division.

TREE PROTECTION 1VIEASLTRES
The following tree preservation measures apply to all tress to be retained:
• No storage of material, topsoil, vehicles or equipment shall be permitted within the tree eraclosure
area.
• The ground under and around the tree canopy area shall not be altered
• Trees to be retained shall be irrigated and maintained as necessary to ensure survival.
HIDDEN CONDITIONS
"Any hidden conditions that require work to be performed beyond the scope of work of the building
permit issued for these plans may require further City approvals including review by the Planning
Commision". The building owner, project designer, and/or contractor must submit a Revision to the
City for a any work not graphically illustrated in these plans prior to performing this work.
SPECIAL INSPECTIONS
The Contractor shall be responsible for the Special Inspection and Testing Agreement as provided by
the City.
WATER-CONSERVING PLUMBING FIXTURES
As of January 1, 2014, SB 407 (2009) requires non-compliant plumbing fixturess to be replaced
by water-conserving plumbing fixtures when a property is undergoing alterations or improvements.
The law applies toall residential & commercial property built prior to January 1, 1994.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY (HOURS)
No person shall erect (including excavation and grading), demolish, alter or repair any bLlilding or
structure other than between the following hours except in the case of urgent necessity in the
interest of public health and safety, and then only with prior written approval from the Building
Official, which approval shall be granted for a period not to exceed three days. No work on
Sundays and Holidays. '
Holidays are the first day of January, the third Monday of February, the last Ivlomday of 1WIay, the
fourth day of July, the first Monday of September, the eleventh day of November, the fourth
Thursday in November and the twenty-fifth day of December. If the first day of January, the
fourth day of July, the eleventh day af November, or the twenty-fifth day of December fa.11s upon a
Sunday the following Monday is a Holiday.
