criteria, Planning Department comments, and study meeting questions. Five conditions were
suggested for consideration. CP noted the applicant asked that condition #4 be amended to read;
"that no more than two students shall be taught during a single session and no more than one
student shall be tested in a single session" .
Chm. Galligan opened the public hearing. Darlene DeMaria, 101 Lorton Avenue #5, the
applicant was present to answer questions. Commission asked that a map showing the meter
time designations for the nearby public parking lots be made available to the applicant. There
were no other comments and the public hearing was closed.
C. Jacobs noted this application will not have a negative impact on the area for the reasons
stated in the staff report and made a motion to approve the special permit application with the
following amended conditions; 1) that the 165± in Suite #18 shall be used as set forth in the
documents dated March 12, 1995 and any future tenant improvement shall be reviewed by the
Planning Department prior to applying for a Building permit; 2) that the days and hours of
operation shall not exceed Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. with testing in the
mornings; 3) that this business shall be a sole proprietor operation and any addition of
employees/partners operating from this site shall require an amendment to this special permit;
4) that no more than two students shall be taught during a single session and no more than one
student shall be tested in a single session, a 15 minute break shall be provided between sessions;
and 5) that the project shall meet all the requirements of the Uniform Building and Uniform Fire
Codes as amended by the City of Burlingame.
