Summary: On August 28, 2000, the Planning Commission approved by consent calendar a design review application for a second story addition at 1532 Burlingame Avenue, zoned R-1 (August 28, 2000 Planning Commission Minutes). A building permit was issued and construction is currently under way. The property owner is now proposing to eliminate and add a window on the second floor. The following revisions are proposed: • Eliminate Window in Second Floor Walk-In Closet/North Elevation — The second floor walk-in closet was originally approved with a new 2'-0" x 3'-0" double-hung window facing the street. The applicant is proposing to eliminate this window (see second floor plan and front elevation); and • Add Window in Master Bathroom/Left Side Elevation — The master bathroom was originally approved without windows. The applicant is proposing to add a new 1'-0" x 5'-0" window above the tub (see second floor plan and left side building elevation). The design of the addition, other than eliminating and adding a window, remains unchanged. There were no changes to the footprint of floor area of the house. A copy of the approved and proposed floor plans and building elevations (date stamped March 22, 2002) has been included for your review. Planning staff would note that because of the minor revisions to windows, it was determined that it could be reviewed by the Commission as an FYI item. If the Commission feels there is a need for more study, this item may be placed on an action calendar for a second review and/or public hearing with direction to the applicant.
