City Council Minutes - 2/19/85
PUBLIC HEARING - REVIF.W OF PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION ON DISH ANTENNA
AT 1462 BURLINGAME AVENUE
City Planner reviewed her memorandum of February 13 in which she
recommended council hold public hearing and take action. At the
January 28 Planning Commission, special permits were approved with
conditions to allow a rooftop dish antenna. Applicant had installed
the antenna without any permits; it needs a building permit, it
exceeds 7 square feet in area, was installed more than five feet above
grade, and is visible from the street. Councilman Pagliaro called
this up for council review.
Mayor Martin opened the public hcaring. There being no comments, the
hearing was closed. Applicant was not present.
Councilman Mangini noted he had visited the area and the antenna was
not visible, it apparently had been removed. He moved to reverse the
Planning Commission approval and deny the special permits. Seconded
by Councilman Amstrup.
Councilman Pagliaro stated his concern with the antenna was its size
and the fact that it was installed without permits.
Motion carried unanimously on roll call vote.
