Dear Mr. Altmann,
Your request for a minor modification permit was reviewed by property owners within 100', the Planning
Commission and City Council. Since there was no appeal, a minor modification permit for lot coverage for a
first floor bay window addition at 1537 Cypress Avenue, zoned R-1, was approved effective March 17, 1999,
with the following findings:
that the proposed bay window (which extends 1'-0" from the e�cisting house) will be located behind an
existing bay window (which e�ctends 2'-0" from the existing house), and therefore will not be visible from
the street but does meet required building code setbacks;
2. that the proposed bay window is located 10'-9" from the side property line and adjacent to a driveway,
and therefore will not have a detrimental impact ori the character of the adjacent properties;
3. that the proposed bay window provides necessary light and ventilation as required by the California
Building Code for a kitchen; and
4. the proposed project meets all other zoning code requirements and will meet the requirements of the
California Building and Fire Codes, 1995 Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame, and therefore
will not be detrimental to public health, safety or welfare.

All site improvements and construction work will require separate application to the Building Department.
This approval is valid for one year during which time a building permit must be issued. One extension of up
to one year may be considered by the Planning Commission if application is made before the end of the first
year.
