RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of 6urlingame: 1

t•1HEREAS, on March 25, 1977, application ��as made to the Planning
Coimnission of the City of f3ur'lingame by f!AO'•1I P. AZ7_ARIA, o��aner o` those
premises at 1510 Cypress Avenue, 6urlinqame (Assessor's Parcel Pluirber
028-294-070); and
bJfiEREl1S, said application requested a special permit to use a
detached accessory building for sleepinn our���oses; and
IdHEREA.S, said special perr�it was denied by the Plannino Con:mission
follotfling a public hearing uoon said application scheduled and held on A,pril
25, 1977; and
61HEREAS, the applicant filed a timely anpeal and a public hearing
u7on said appeal ���as scheduled and held by this City Council on the 16th day
of �1ay, 1977;
iVOIJ, THEREFORE, it is ORDERED A'�l� DETEft�•1IfdED bV the City Council
of the City of Qurlingame:
1. That the following findings of fact are made regarding said
property:
(a) The application of Plaomi P. .Azzaria was for the use of a
room attached to the existing qaraqe upon said property for sleeping
quarters for her ttivo sons. Said room consists only of sleeping quar-ters
and contains no plur�bino or kitchen facilities.
(b) Thc main d���elling upon said property is used for a residential
care facility for the elderly as allowed by state la�v. The sons of
the applicant are aned 13 and 19 and, due to their personal schedules,
it is desirable that they sleep in the detached qUarters rat�ier than
in thc main d�•�elling unit.

2. The grantin� of the permit applied for hereunder would be in
the interesi; of the health and vaelfare of the p�rsons dv�elling in said build-
ings and, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, �,�ould be in
conformity v�itii reasonable and orderly use of the property.
(c) Said sons of applicant fiave slept in tfie detached quarters
for approximately t4ro years, to a�it, since the date of purcliase and
occupancy of the property by the applicant.
3. Tl�e decision of the Planning Commission is hereby re��ersed and
the special perr�it to use the existina sleeping quarters attached to the aarage
at 1510 Cypress Avenue is approved subject to the condition that it be used
only for• sleeoing by the two sons of ;Jaomi Azzaria, and, should the t�,�o sons
vacate said quarters for a oeriod in�excess of six �iicnths, they shall be deer��ed
to no longer inhabit said quarters and this perinit shall terminate. This
permit shall also terminate upon the sale or transfer of said propert�� by
Naomi Azzaria, or upon ii.s ceasing to be used as a residential care facility
for t�e elderly.
4. The Clerk shall cause a copy of this resolution to be recorded
with tl�e County Recorder of the County of San Mateo.
