A Special Meeting of the Planning Commission was held in the City Hall at
7:45 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 1946.
On roll call the following were present:
Mitchell
Coles
Macomber
Brown
Stivers
Shattuck
City Engineer Cecil Longson
Others attending:
City Attorney Karmel
City Clerk White
Councilman Roth
11 Harris
Fire Chief Leis
Chairman Mitchell presiding.
This was a Special Meeting to discuss the proposed rezoning of property in
the area located between El Camino Real and California Drive and between Holva.rd Avenue
and Peninsula Avenue. Fire Chief Leis was present -and discussed generally the subject
of fire protection, pointing out that there are a considerable number of old frame
structures in the area under consideration and he recommended. that if these blocks are
rezoned for commercial use, they should be included in -the first fire district. C,m-
missioner Coles made a motion which was seconded by Commissioner Shattuck and unani-
mously voted that the City Clerk be directed to advertise a public hearing to be held
March 28, 1946 on the subject of rezoning the area under discussion and send individual
notices of such hearing to the property owners.
The meeting adjourned at 10 p.m. .
