RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION and SIDE SETBACK VARIANCE

RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a side setback

owners:
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on
January 26, 1998, at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and
testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received
and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set
forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption per Article 19,
Section 15301 Class 1 - operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private
structure, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion
of use beyond that previously existing, including but not limited to: (e) additions to existing structures
provided that the addition will not result in an increase of more than: (1) 50 percent of the floor area of the
structures before the addition, or 2,500 square feet, whichever is less, is hereby approved.
2. Said side setback variance is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
Findings for such side setback variance are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the offic'al records of the
County of San Mateo.

that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission
held on the 226th day of January, 1998 , by the following vote:

Conditions of approval categorical exemption and side setback variance
1701 QUESADA WAY
effective FEBRUARY 2, 1998
1. that the project shall be built as shown on the plan submitted to the Planing
Department date stamped December 5, 1997 (sheets 1-9) with the wall of the
proposed addition no closer than 3'-2" to the property line, and all exterior walls of
the addition shall be built of one hour fire rated construction with no openings;
2. that, if required by the Building Department based on the construction plans
submitted, the applicant shall complete a property line survey by a licensed surveyor;
3. that there shall be one unobstructed parking space in the garage which measures 10'-
0"W x 20'-0"L;
4. that the sunscreen presently attached to the eave and property line fence shall be
removed within 20 days; and
5. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the California Building and Fire
Codes, 1995 edition, as amended by the City of Burlingame.
