RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
AND SPECIAL PERMIT
RESOLUTION-18-98
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a Categorical Exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a
Special Permit for financial institution with frontage on Chapin Avenue at 1440 Chavin Avenue, Suite
3bk, zoned C-1. Subarea B-1, Coltin Investments, Ltd. pro erty owner, APN• 029-121-470;
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on
May 11, 1998 , at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials
and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments
received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the
project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, per
CEQA Article 19, Section 15301, existing facilities, Class 1(a), interior or exterior alterations involving
such things as interior partitions, plumbing, and electrical conveyances is hereby approved.
2. Said Special Permit is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto. Findings for such Special Permit are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records
of the County of San Mateo.

certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission held on the l lth day of -May--, 1998 , by the following vote:

Conditions of approval Categorical Exemption and Special Permit
1440 Chapin Avenue, Suite 360
effective MAY 18, 1998
1. that the financial institution shall be limited to 1073 SF in Suite 360, at 1440 Chapin
Avenue, as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped
March 25, 1998, Floor Plan for Suite 360 and date stamped March 27, 1998, Lower Level
Parking, Mid Level Parking, First Floor Plan;
2. that the financial institution may be open for business during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a maximum of 7 employees on site at any one
time;
3. that any changes in operation, floor area, use, or number of employees, which exceeds the
maximums as stated in these conditions shall require an amendment to this use permit; and
4. that the use and any improvements for the use shall meet all California Building and Fire
Codes, 1995 Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame.
