The subject of the proposed Fire Drill Tower was discussed at considerable
length and in general. It was the consensus that a drill tower is a necessary and de-
sirable facility for the Fire Department, but there was some question as to its location
and its use by outside fire departments. In conclusion it was moved, seconded, and
unanimously voted that the location of the proposed fire tower on city property adjoin-
ing the fire house is accepted, and that the plans for the structure should be subject
to further consideration as to exterior architectural treatment.
Prior to the joint meeting, Mr. 'William Crosby and Mr. Richard M. Bates,
architect, appeared before the Planning Commission and presented the plans for the new
chapel proposed to be constructed at 2 Park Road. After inspection of the plans and
the drawings, it was regularly moved and seconded, and unanimously voted that the plans
be approved.
