A Special Meeting of the Planning Commission was held in the City Hall at
7:45 P.m., Monday, December 11, 1944.

This Special Meeting was called for the purpose of considering the rezoning of
the remaining unimproved lots fronting Bayshore Highway between Toyon Drive and Morrell
Avenue, and Lots 1 and 2 in Block 10. Chairman Mitchell stated he believed the members
of the Planning Commission have each viewed the area under consideration and have studied
the subject for some time, and he called for a motion. Commissioner Brown movea that the
Planning Commission adopt a resolution of recommendation to the City Council that the re-
maining unimproved lots fronting Bayshore Highway between Toyon Drive and Morrell Avenue,
and Lots 1 and 2 in Block 10 be changed from "industrial" to "apartment house" zone. On
roll call the following commissioners voted, -

It was ordered that the Secretary so communicate with the City Council. Accordingly tke
following communication has been addressed to the Honorable Burlingame City Council:
1tConcerning - Petition from the Burlingame Gardens Improvement Club to rezone the re-
maining unimproved lots fronting Bayshore Highway, between Toyon Drive and Morrell
Avenue, and Lots Number 1 and 2 in Block Number 10, from light industrial to first
or second residential.
t1At a regular meeting of the Planning Commission October 26, 1944, there was present
a delegation from the Burlingame Gardens Improvement Club, who zere informed by the
Chairman that the petition had been received and the subject was being studied.by
the Planning Commission preliminary to a public hearing on the subject at the next
meeting of the Planning Commission.
"Thereafter, at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission, ilovember 330, .1944,
at which five Commissioners were present and one absent, there was held a formal
hearing as recorded in the minutes of the meeting. At the conslusion of this meet-
ing, the Commission voted to take the matter under advisement for further study and
consideration.
"On December 11, 1944, a special meeting of the Planning Commission was held to hear
the result of the further study of the aforementioned matter, and after full discus-
sion Frith a quorum present, it was duly moved and unanimously voted that: The

Burlingame- City Planning Commission respectfully recommends to the City Council
that the remaining unimproved lots fronting Bayshore highway, between Toy on
Drive and Morrell Avenue, and Lots Number 1 and 2 in Block Number 10 be changed
from light industrial to the apartment zone."
Meeting adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
