A special meeting of the Planning Comiission of the Cite of Burlingame
was held in the City Hall on Thursday evening, January 7, -1943 at S p.m. Chairman
,fitchell presiding.
This meeting was called to consider if local zoning ordinances should be
modified in connection with the Wartime Housing Program, After discussion of the
subject, it appeared to be the consensus of opinion of the members of the Planning
Commission that no action should be taken at this tine. A motion was duly made
and seconded that the secretary advise the City Council that the Planning Commis-
sion recommends no action be taken at this time toward modification of the zoning;
ordinances affecting dwellings for the reason that at present there does not appear
to be sufficient information to justify such action.

Representatives from the Burlingame Improvement Club, Messrs. Vale and
Wheatley, brought up the subject of a. tree planting program along the front
property lines in Burlingame Village. They reported that a plan has been circu-
lated among the 140 residents in the village ;uid of this number 126 have agreed to
the tree planting. After discussion, a notion ,a ;nade b.A- Commissioner Coles and
seconded by Commissioner Rapp that the Planning Com,,,ission recommend to the City
Council that the city cooperate W4ti the Burlinga;ae Village Improvement Club in
its tree planting Nrogram, and that the Superintendent of Parks be authorized to
assist them. The commission approved the scheme of plant as outlined by Park
Superintendent Anderson.
The meeting adjourned at 9:55 P.m.
