The Secretary- read from the agenda reference to the comments heard at the
meeting ,March 25, 1942 relative to the City Attorney looking into the subject of com-
municating with the City Council regarding enforcement of the ordinance affecting
the height of hedges. City Attorney Karmel responded that the code provides a limit
to the height of hedges and prescribes certain unobstructed view at intersections,
and it is a function of the Police Department to see that -the ordinances are enforced.
Mayor Burrows was present and stated that the subject will be brought up at the next
meeting of the City Council.
The Chairman noticed the presence of several individuals in the audience,
who had appeared at previous hearings relating to the Tevis property, and he announced
that there is to be no hearing tonight on that subject as the recommendation of the
Planning Commission already has been made to the City Council. If it has been referred
back to the Commission, no notice has been received, and is therefore not on the calen-
dar tonight.
Referencevas made to a communication sent to the Lang Realty Company under
date of January 29 regarding non-compliance with the understanding relative to shrub-
bery planting for the duplex units on the Bayshore Highway, to which no response has
been received to date. It was reported that recently an objectionable growth of weeds
has been cut down in the vicinity of the duplex units, but nothing has been done
about planting shrubbery. The Secretary was instructed to communicate with the Lang
Realty Company requesting that they have a representative attend the next meeting of
the City Planning Commission to explain the failure to carry out the understanding re-
garding shrubbery planting.
Chairman tiiitchell introduced :'dr. Ronald Campbell, Secretary of the San Mateo
County Planning Commission. Mr. Campbell addressed the meeting about post-war plan-
ning.
Dr. Macomber made a motion, which was seconded by tor. Coles, that a committee
be appointed to join with a group representing the three cities of Hillsborough,
San Aiateo, and Burlingame to meet with the County Planning commission. Unanimous ap-
proval was voiced.
Mr. Brown suggested that there be compiled a list of projects, grouped in or-
der of their relative importance for consideration at a date as early- as possible. City
Engineer Whitehead reported that such a list has been prepared and is in his office.
After -discussion it was decided that the City Planning Commission will hold a special
meeting next Thursday evening, Iuiay 6, on this subject.
