A. J. Lang of the Lang Realty Co. appeared in response to the communication
addressed to them May 1, 1943 regarding the shrubbery which should have been planted
in front of the duplex units on the Bayshore Highway. He said that he earnestly de-
sires to carry* out his commitment to the City Planning Commission and will do so as
soon as conditions permit. He said that he has gone to the trouble and expense to buy
tools and find the shrubbery, but it has been impossible to employ any labor. He was
told that the commission realizes that under wartime conditions it is difficult to
get these things done, which is unfortunate for the appearance of the property, and
that he should attend to this as soon as possible. He promised to do so.
Chairman ;Mitchell presented a communication he received from the California
State Planning Board, Sacramento, California, to which was appended a brief entitled
"Master and Official Plans" by L. Dei:iing Tiiton, former consultant Califorf a State
Planning Board.
Mr. V'rhitehead presented a preliminary map showing a modified plan for off-
street parking in the Broadway area, which was discussed at length and it was thought
that Mr. Whitehead has brought in some good ideas on the subject. He said that he
will endeavor to complete more of the necessary details on the map and present .it at
the next meeting.
Chairman Kitchell reported that he has been giving further thought to plans
for the post-war development of the Burlingame bay front area.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned 10:15 p.m.
