This meeting was held for the purpose of going over park and alleyway plans
with City Engineer Longson. The subject was discussed at .Length with particular
reference to the Burlingame Avenue section, with the thought that Broadway necessarily
must be considered separately. The map for the Burlingame Avenue area was examined
thoroughly and discussed with Mr. Longson with the particular view to endeavoring to
obtain a balanced plan for the North and South sides of Burlingame avenue. A number
of notations were made on the map to indicate the possible inclusion of ad.ditionai
parking area and the prolongation of Chapin Avenue from Primrose Road to the proposed
underpass. City Engineer Longson is to make a further study covering these details
and theareport back to the commission at an early date, when it is hoped that the com-
mission may find it possible to make a definite recommendation to the city council.
Chairman Mitchell expressed the thought that it would be a good idea to in-
clude in the plans under consideration provision for a professional zone before new
building activities are resumed after the war.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30.
