Chairman Mitchell presiding.
OTHERS PRESENT: Dahl

The subject of overgrown hedges was referred to, and after a number of com-
ments were made by those present, Dr. Macomber stated he thought it would be a good
idea for the Planning Commission to recommend to the City Council to either have the
Police Department enforce the ordinance or repeal it. Commissioner Coles said that
he felt the ordinance should be repealed as long as it is not enforced, and after some
discussion of the subject, it was brought out that for the present the Planning Com-
mission realizes the value of the ordinance and that its manner of enforcement is
something for additional study before making definite recommendation on the subject.
Commissioner Cates brought up again the subject of the Off -Street Parking
project and stated he was not satisfied as to the amount of land which would be re-
moved from the tax rolls and he believes it should be found out quite definitely
before supporting the project how much it would cost in the loss of taxes and for
maintenance and policing and so forth. Dr. Macomber said that he seconded that
thought and all of the members present stated they concurred. Commissioner Coles
stated he would write a memorandum or letter on this topic summarizing his views
which he would submit to the commission at a later meeting. This will be taken up
with the City Engineer at a subsequent meeting.
Commissioner Rapp proposed that the meeting be adjourned in respect to the
memory of John Davis, former City Attorney.
Meeting adjourned 9:55 p.m.
