Respectfuly submitted, Signature !: CL"--c.e . 732 Vernon u1a Burlingame, Calii. June 30, 193 Planning `omrsiission City of Burlingame Burlingame, Calif. Dear Sirs: Attached is our application for a va.riance of city building codes on proposed construction on our property at 732 Vernon 'd'day. The variance we request is to have an addition made to our present house which vould result in 45 coverage of our lot, and would come rvithin 11{_ feet, 3 inches of the rear property line. It s our opinion that this would not be detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare, r_or injurious to the pro7_erty or the improvements of other property o:mers. Our neighbors to the East oi' us would, ve believe, benefit irom our addition in that it would ai'ford te::= more privacy and wind protection in their baek rard Our neighbors tothe rear of us are separated from vievr o' our 1ot, house, and proposed addition by high grovrth hedge and trees. Immediately adjac- ent to us on tne UVest is tihe "tree storae" axea oi 1lashington Park. Tne i'act that our lot i$ only L{.3 feet yvide makes it nec- essarp for us to cover 15io oi it to attain the necessary and desired ar,iount of livin space for ot:r family of five. The remainin yard space, aiter our proposed ad:iition, tivill be comoletely adequate. ''Je desire to remain at our present loc- ation because it is exceptionally convenier_t in respect to work (TvIiller Dru on Burliname Ave.), t o schools, shopping, recreational facilities, etc. The variance we as is small, but is necessar to make our proposed addition feasible. '"Jithout aduitional space we feel tha.t vre viill be f'orced to moae, as our present house is not large enou h for wzr family. e are cert.^in that grantin our requested variance will have no efiect on the comprehensive oning plan oi the city, and t hat t'r_ere rill be no detri:e_^t to anrone, nor any prec- edent set b granting this variance.
