The Burlingame Planning Department has received an application for a Minor Modification at the following

APPLICATION TO EXTEND AN EXISTING FIRST FLOOR WALL WITH A 3'-8"
SIDE SETBACK AT 830 WALNUT AVENUE, ZONED R-1. THE EXISTING WALL
AT TI� LEFT SIDE OF THE HOUSE WOULD BE EXTENDED ANOTHER 12'-0° TO
EXPAND A KITCHEN AND BEDROOM; THE ADDITION WOULD HAVE A 3'-8"
SIDE SETBACK WFIERE 4'-0" IS REQUIltED WITHOUT A MINOR MODIFICATION.
Your property is located within 100 feet of this property. A minor modification has been requested to allow
this addition based on Municipal Code Section 25.55. Any noticed property owner may call this item up for
review. If you would like to request that this project be reviewed, which includes a public hearing,
you should submit a written request to the City Planner within seven days of the postmark on this
letter. Unless review of the application is requested, the minor modification shall be approved based upon
the following findings:
the original house was built with a 3'-8" side setback which does not meet current code requirements;
2. the proposed addition is designed within the required building envelope and is therefore compatible
with the mass and character of adjacent properties; and
3. the proposed project meets all other zoning code requirements and will meet the requirements of the
California Building and Fire Codes, 1995 Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame, and
therefore will not be detrimental to public health, safety or welfare.
