Dear Mr. Neale,
Your request for a minor modification permit was reviewed by property owners within 100', the Planning
Commission and City Council. Since there was no appeal, a minor modification permit to extend an existing
first floor wall at 830 Walnut Avenue, zoned R-1, was approved effective February 11, 1997, with the
following findings:
the original house was built with a 3'-8" side setback which does not meet current code
requirements;
2. the proposed addition is designed within the required building envelope and is therefore
compatible with the mass and character of adjacent properties; and
3. the proposed project meets all other zoning code requirements and will meet the requirements
of the California Building and Fire Codes, 1995 Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame,
and therefore will not be detrimental to public health, safety or welfare.
