in the City Hall, Burlingame, on
Thursday eveninC , January 25,1940
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. iti., Jas H.
Mitchell presiding: other membors present were A. J.
Rapp, Miss Rogers, Dr. Macomber, C
Jas Watson, and .
Macdonald. m -tubers absent were Mayor Ijunt, G. W.
Coleman, I. Karmel and 1J. L. Longson.
Minutes of the previous meeting was read. and approved
as read.
Final hearing was held on the application of her. W. 0.
Lang, to rezone from first residential to second resi-
dential, lots numbers 1 to 10 inclusive in block f18,
Burlirgables, Burlingame.
A totio- for final approval and to so recomm;nd to the
City Council was carried unanimously. Ayes: Rapp,
Rogers, Utchell , ma.comber and ., acdonald. hoes : None.
Final hearing was held on the Application submitted by
the C. H. Bessett jonpany, requesting that lots lumbers
lto 10 inclusive, and lots 21 an(-.. 22, all in block #4,
Oak Grove manor, burlingame, be r zon- d from first
residential to second residential.
A Motion to approve and to so r=:commend to the City
Council was carried by unanimous vote. Ayes: Rapp,
Rogers, Mitchell, uacomber and Macdonald. Noes: None.
Applications to rezone lots 4 and 5, in block,J5,
Caston Addition irl, fronting on the Westerly side of
Capuchino Avenue, ewned by Joyce W. Farr and Uatherine
Cody Rittman respectively, as'ring same be rezoned for
business purposes was received and read; initial hearing
is set for 14'sbruary 29, 1940.
Petitions received to rezone from first residential to
that of Apartments all of the easterly side of Anita
Road extending from Burlingame Avenue,to Peninsula
Avenue, was tentatively approved. The properties
herein referred to are included in blocks 22, 23 and 24,
Town of Burlingame. Final hearing scheduled for\the
next stated meeting.
The proposed scheme to change the classification of lots
fronting on Arundel Road, both sides thereof, to second
residential to permit duplexes, was abandoned by the
Commission due to objections raised by several Owners,
who stated that they, acquired the property for use as
homes only and wanted it to remain so. Among the speakers
opposing any change in the classification were H.W.
McGurty, 229 bloomfisld xoad, and Floyd 1;. Gigson, 228
Arundel xoad.
A formal request was received from idr. IV. 0. Lang,
for realignment of three lots at Bloomfield and Plymoth
for the purpose of placing the iestern eine Home from
Treasure sland,'was held over for further discussion.
Mr. A. E. Van Bolt protested the proposed project.
A request from J. H. Dore, to erect a building in the
Light Industrial District, was meld ov®r for further
consideration. with particular emphasis on the fact
that the district has no regular sanit,ory facilites.
Mr. Albert E. Magnuson, address, San Bmmo, asked that
lot J26, in block t5, Easton subdi,�7ision, be rezoned to
Commercial. his application was read, and initial
Hearing set for r'ebruary 29. The property fronts on
El Camino Real.
The meeting adjourned at 8.30 }'. �.
