miembers present: A. F. Hunt, Rapp, Miss Rogers, Coleman,
Macomber, watson, laacdo-ald , and Mitchell.
The meeting convened at 7:45 P. ;�Q. , I'liss Janet P. Rogers,
Temporary Chairman.
Final hearing was held on the application of Joyce Farr,
Owner of lot y'5, blocks, Easton Addition 'l, and the
application of Catherine Cody Rittman., Owner of lot m4,
block ` 5, Easton Addition ,-,`1. The applications requested
that the classification be changed to commercial, to be
used in connection with a chain Store as proposed by :,ir.
Boyce Muir. After considerable discussion, in which l;r.
Parks and tar. Ratto, property Owners on Broadway, opposed
extension of business to side streets until lower Broadway
is built up, -Ar. Muir stated that vaca it proper%- on
Broadway is held at too high a value to make it a pro-
fitable investment and that his clients would not give it
any consideration. mr. W. S. Nielson, Realtor at 1407
Broadway, however, claimed that, if permitted, it would
stimulate business.
The fact that apuchino Aveue is narrow and that until
such time as a survey is made and alleys provided the
applicationsshould not be granted.
A Motion was made that t_�e applications be denied, and
was carried unanimously. Ayes: Coleman, Rapp, hogers,
Mitohell, iviacomber and Macdonald. t,o_as: Tone.
In the matter of the Commissions approval of Duplex
Zoning on.Trenton Way and on portion of Bloomfield Road
in the Oak Grove ianore-Burlingables Subdivision, the
Committee representing Property Owners and Mr. Lang stated
they were unable to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion
and left it to the descretion of the Commission.
In view of the strong opposition to duplexes that developed
and until such time as the status of. block 43 is determined
the Commission by unanimous vote rescinded its previous
action. r'or the motion to rescind: Macomber, Coleman,
Rapp, Rogers and Macdonald. Against: Ione.
Mr. La -:g stated that he would withdraw the application and
that he intended to submit another which would include
block T3.
Mr. Lang reported that satisfactory steps have been taken
to remove the western Pine House. Als(.i that a five foot
easement had been secured to establish a right of way from
Lexington Avenue to the Old Gunst Property.

Leadley and Leadley submitted yap of Subdivision number
20 of Burlingame Shore band Company, to be known as
"Burlingame Gardens", requesting entire property be
zoned to first residential, except lots 1-2-3-4and 5, in
block t8; 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 in block t9; Lots 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
in block g10; also lots 1 and 2 in block 1'14, which are
to remain as is --bight industrial.
