the City of Durlingama,held in
the City nall,lsurlingame,,on
Thursday evening,April 25„1940.

and gas Y ats,on. Absent: u.W.Coleman and C.L.Lomgson.
The meeting was called for 7:30,r.xtbut; transaction of
business was delayed 40 minutes pending the arrival of
a full quorum. Chairman Jas H.Mitchell. presided.
In respect to the memory of the late Janet P.Rogers,
who served as a member;, Qf-tbis Commission sines March,
19369 the following r%a"6" passed by unanimous vote and
ordered spread on the minutes of this meeting,and a copy
transmitted to the City Council;—
"Where++�$$ 11 wise Providence,in his infinite
wisdom,�i 4anet P.Rogers to her Eternal Home;
and,'::M'BSAS, our depatted friend and citizen had
by her gentili*y and loving kindness endeared
herself to her many associates in the offocial
and civil affairs of the City of Burlingama;and,
WHEREAS,her parti6ipation in the activAties of
the Planning Gommission of the City of Burlingame
brought her keen judgezbbnt to the councils of
the U ommission,and will hereafter be greatly
missed;
NOW,THEREMRE,be it resolved: That theP lanning
Commission of the City of Burlingame,and each
of the members thereof,do hereby express their
condolence and sadness occasioned by the passing
of Janet P.Rogers;
Be it further resolved that this Resolution be
spread on the minutes of the meeting of the
Planning Commission held this 25th,day of April,
1940,and acoopy thereof be transmitted to the City
council of the City of Burlingame."

Tentative Hearing was held in the matter of a
petition filed with the Commission at its meeting,
March,28,1940,oalling for q change in classification
from First Residential to Second Resilential,to
permit duplexes, on lots Nos, A to I. -and V, in
block No.2 ,Burlingame Terraoe,Burli'same.
After a brief discussion in whioh certain property
owners concerned participated a favorable understanding
was arrived at and no serious objections made,a
motion for a tentative approval of the petition was
carried by unanimous vote.
For the motion: Rapp,-wlitehell,kacomber and Macdonal4,
Against:None, Absent : Coleman. Final hearing set
for May,23rd.
A communication was received from the Planning Commission
of the City and County of San Francisco,inviting the
Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame to
participate in and to act one of the associate sponsors
to the National Conference of Planning to be held in
the City Hall,San Francisco,July 8-9-10-11-snd-le,
1940. The Secretary was instructed to forward a letter
of acceptance.
Owing to the regular meeting for the month of May
falling on Decoration Day,the date was advanced one
week or as of May,23rd.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned
at 9:30 P.M.
