Commission held in the City ball,Burlingame,
on August,29,1940gat 7:30.iM.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM,Jas.ti.Mitohell
presiding. Mr.geo.E.Srown reported sick and confined to
the hospital.
A petition signed by owners of lots,hos 9-1.0-11 and 14 in
block mo,2,.Burlingame Terraos,calling for •change of
classification from First to Second Residential was denied.
The Commission did not wish to extend this privilege to
the district now entirely composed of single family -dwellings.
The application signedb 59 property owners in blooks BO -3 ,
4 and 61n Villa Park subdivision and praoti.oally bounded by
Morrell,Park,Linden and Maple Avenues requested the territory
be rezoned from First Residential to Second Residential.
The petitiliers pointed out one duplex in block No.3 and one
in block No.6,and that the southern half Laurel avenue was
rseently zoned for Second Residential; and that by rezoning
the three blocks would conform with the uses of the adjacent
area. tentative hearing was set for September,26,1940.
A petition to resubdivide lot 37 and 38,in block h o.45 ,Easton
Addition No 4,to avoid removing a house which now extends_
slightly on lot Ro,38 which is vacant. 1,ot 38 to have a
frontage of 40 feet and no.37 60 feet and wil have b0 feet
each in the rear,with an area of 5000 and 9000 sq feet
respectively. Gobingent on there being no objections
from the next door bdighbors and that a map of property as
resubdivided is filed with the Oity,it is the recommendation
of the vommission to grant the request.

A request from Mr F.G.Saunders for a permit; to erect a second
Duplex on a .Lot on Laurel avenue was denied as it would be
a violation of the city ordina,lce.
A communication from rir 'ellen E.Singer with regard to delay
in installing Street work at 400 o onoort Wa,y referred to the
Board of 13ublic ".'forks.
informal discussion was had on the advisd,bi.lity of acquiring
Recreation facilities on the Mills estate near the City
limits.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at
9:30 'M.
